Mich. Atty. General approves charges against 11 in Medicaid abuse scheme

LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has announced felony charges against 11 in-home care workers for Medicaid abuse, including two in West Michigan.

They're accused of cashing Medicaid checks intended for family members who already passed away.

Schuette says the fraud cost taxpayers $60,000.

The suspects are from across the state, including one from Muskegon and another from Marcellus.

They face up to 4 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
