Banners for Super Bowl made in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Banners are proudly hanging near MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for this weekend's Super Bowl game.

They were all made right here in Kalamazoo.

Consort Display Group was contracted by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to create 300 banners to welcome fans to the big game.

The company president tells Newschannel 3 that getting chosen for this project felt like winning the Super Bowl.

"It is our Super Bowl. It is big time. In fact, I don't know many events that are much bigger than this so we're very pleased to be a part of that," said Roger Lepley.

The banners display the various "gateways to the game," namely planes, trains, cars and buses.

They will be seen by tens of thousands of people over the course of Super Bowl weekend.
