Gun suspect asks judge to go easy

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The man who gave a gun to Roderick Dantzler, who later went on to kill seven people, is asking a judge to go easy on him.

Michael Allen is set to be sentenced next week after he pleaded guilty to transferring a weapon to a felon.

Allen wrote a letter to a federal court judge saying he's a hard worker who made a horrible choice.

Police say Allen gave Roderick Dantzler a semi-automatic pistol just months before he went on a killing spree in the summer of 2011.

Dantzler killed seven people, including his estranged wife and their daughter.

Allen is asking the judge for a quote - "fair sentence."
He could spend up to ten years in prison when he's sentenced next week.
