Traffic stop leads to huge ecstasy bust

CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A traffic stop on I-94 led to a big drug bust involving thousands of ecstasy pills. 

Deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department Special Response Team made a traffic stop on I-94 near Old 27 in Marshal Township.

After speaking with the driver, suspicion was raised and a K-9 unit was called to the scene.

The Calhoun County K-9 unit alerted to a controlled substance in the vehicle and a search found nearly 5,000 ecstasy pills.

Right now the 36-year-old Harper Woods man is being held at the Calhoun County Jail for possession with intent to deliver ecstasy.

His name is being withheld pending an arraignment.
