Obama tweets about K-Central grad in NCAA tourney

BUFFALO, N.Y. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) One Kalamazoo Central grad's play on the hardwood is catching the eye of President Obama.

After the University of Dayton's 55-53 upset win over Syracuse in the NCAA men's basketball tournament Saturday night, the president talked about Devin Oliver from the White House Twitter account (@whitehouse).

President Obama signed the tweet with his initials, saying, "Congrats to the Dayton Flyers on a huge upset win! Devin Olvier, I may need to take you up on that pick-up game one of these days. -bo"

Oliver met the president when he spoke at Kalamazoo Central's commencement in 2010.

The senior forward Oliver had 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 7 points in the game. It was the Orange's first game without a 3-pointer since 1995.

Dayton is now in the Sweet 16 for the first time in 30 years. The Flyers are heading to Memphis, Tenn., where they will play the winner of Sunday's matchup between Kansas and Stanford.
