LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY for Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and St. Joe counties until 9 PM.  2" to 6" of snow are possible on northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph bringing lake effect snow bands near and across US 131, at times.  Some locations will see more than 6", especially closer to Lake Michigan.  Roads are slippery and become more tricky once the sun sets.

Sheriff warns of person going through mail boxes

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - There is a news alert to help you keep your personal information safe.

The Kent County Sheriff's Department has received reports of a person going into mail boxes at night on Colchester in Cascade Township.

Deputies are asking for you to make it more challenging for suspects to obtain your information.

To help keep you safe, they will be offering a senior fraud presentation.

That's happening on Wednesday at 3:30 and again at 6:30 at the Cascade Library in the Wisner Center.

The presentation is free and open to the public.
