Medical marijuana cardholder arrested

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police in Kent County have seized a number of marijuana plants from a medical cardholder who they say was not complying with Michigan's medical marijuana law.

It happened after officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 700 block of East Main Street in Lowell at around 11:00 Monday morning.

Police seized the 20-plants, an irrigation system and a lighting system.

Patients are allowed to grow up to 12 marijuana plants in an enclosed, locked facility.

Police accuse the 31-year-old man of violating the state's medical marijuana law.

A report is on its way to the Kent County Prosecutor's Office.
