Judge approves plea agreement in 'meth by mail' case

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A federal judge accepted a plea arrangement on Friday made between the government and a local woman who they say intended to distribute meth by mail.

Late last year, federal agents confronted Maggie Stevenson as she exited the Post Office in Otsego.

They say she had picked up an order of methamphetamine in her P.O. Box.

Court documents indicate Stevenson admitted to the crime, and she was allowed to plea to two counts of unlawful use of a communication facility--namely the U.S. Mail.

She could have faced more significant drug charges but reached a deal with the government to cooperate in ongoing investigations.
