4-year-old boy struck by car on Rose Street

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A 4-year-old Kalamazoo boy is recovering Friday night after being struck by a car on Rose Street.

At just after 3:00 p.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of Rose, on a report of a child stuck by a vehicle.

Officers located the 4-year-old boy crying in the roadway, with visible injuries to the head.

According to witnesses, the boy was riding his bicycle down the driveway, when he slid out into the roadway.

The child was struck by a car driving northbound on N. Rose. Police cannot make any statements at this time regarding fault, or whether it was simply an accident.

The boy was transported to Bronson Hospital, and is listed in stable condition with minor bumps and bruises.

N. Rose remains closed between Prouty and Union Street as Kalamazoo police investigate.
