Governor in Holland for Tulip Time

HOLLAND, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Wednesday, Governor Rick Snyder will lead the "Volksparade."

Focusing on tradition, thousands will gather at the beginning of the route on 8th Street in Holland at 1:15, dressed in Dutch costumes for the official "street scrubbing."

Bands, floats and Dutch dance groups will then make their way down the parade route.

Before the parade the governor will be joined by Rudolf Beknik, Ambassador to the United States from the Netherlands.

It's the annual Tulip Time Governor's Luncheon.

Snyder's keynote speech will be on a "blue economy" focusing on tourism and innovative relationships.

That's at 11:00 at the DeVos Fieldhouse on the campus of Hope College.
