Schools celebrate ACES Day with workouts, walks

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Local elementary school students are getting a lesson on exercise and healthy living Wednesday, as a part of ACES Day, which means All Children Exercising Simultaneously.

At Woods Lake Elementary in Kalamazoo, the entire school got moving in a zumba class, sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance and Strength Beyond Fitness Center.

Trainers from the gym met with the students, and even danced with them.

They also donated $250 for new fitness equipment.

Milwood Elementary students also stepped up for ACES Day.

Together, kids from preschool through fifth grade went outside for a school-wide walk.

ACES Day is a global event that brings students together from all 50 states and more than 50 countries for exercise, laughter, and learning.
