Wyoming police holding virtual ride-along

WYOMING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Wednesday, you have a chance to ride along with a police officer without ever leaving your home.

The Wyoming Department of Public Safety will host its first ever "virtual ride-along."

All you need is a Twitter account.

Two Wyoming officers will "tweet from the beat" Wednesday so you can get a firsthand look at the calls they're responding to.

Everyone is invited to follow this tweet-along and interact with the officers via Twitter.

You can see the Twitter handle they'll be using @wyomingcityhall.

They will be using the hashtag #wydps and hashtag #tweetalong.

The officers will be describing all the scenes they get sent to. They will not be sharing private information like names or addresses.
