Coach PJ Fleck introduces new WMU gameday traditions
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - If you're heading to Western Michigan's home opener on Saturday evening, then you will need a quick tutorial on some new traditions being started by Head Coach P.J. Fleck.
For example, when the visiting team has the ball on third down, Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls," will bellow.
Many schools do the 'key play' thing, when fans shake their keys on third down, but not in Kalamazoo.
Prior to the fourth quarter, Coach wants everyone to "Row the Boat."
The team is also one of only four in the country to have its own gameday DJ, and a foghorn will sound 20 minutes prior to kickoff to let tailgaters know that it's time to wrap up and get inside.
Coach Fleck thinks fans will enjoy the changes.
