K-Wings preparing for Winter White Weekend

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It's a big pre-holiday weekend for the K-Wings coming up, as the first-ever Bell's Winter White Weekend is about to get underway Friday against Toledo.

The ice was still white for Thursday morning's practice, but Friday and Saturday, it will be blue.

Kalamazoo is on a roll after a rocky start, and are now just four points behind division leading Cincinnati.

One area they're trying to shore up, though, is defending their home turf.

The Wings are just .500 at home, but 7-3 on the road.

Captain Elgin Reid modeled one of the special edition jerseys the team will wear Saturday.

They will be part of a silent auction held during the game.
