(AP) - Michigan football coach Brady Hoke is getting a vote of confidence from university President Mary Sue Coleman. Coleman tells the Ann Arbor News that "football is the underpinning of everything" in the athletics department. But she says school officials are patient. The Wolverines are 15-11 in the last two seasons under Hoke. Coleman says, "We're not the kind of school that's going to say 'If you have a bad season, we're going to fire you.'" But Hoke is shaking things up. He fired offensive coordinator Al Borges this week and replaced him with Alabama's Doug Nussmeier. Coleman recalls people wanting Michigan to fire basketball coach John Beilein before he took the Wolverines to the NCAA championship game last season. Coleman is retiring this year.
